OBA Annual Dinner and Networking event 2024

The Oman Banks Association hosted its Annual Dinner and Networking Event 2024 on Tuesday, 10th December, under the auspices of H.E. Tahir Al-Amry, Executive President of the Central Bank of Oman (CBO), and attended by H.E. Sheikh Abdullah Al Salmi, Executive President of the Financial Services Authority (FSA). The event gathered leaders and executives from the banking industry and senior officials from the CBO under the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) theme.

The evening provided a platform for networking, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration among banking professionals, fostering discussions on sustainability and responsible banking practices. A highlight of the event was a keynote presentation by Mr. Scott Livermore, Chief Economist at Oxford Economics Middle East, who shared valuable insights into the impact of the clean energy transition on the financial industry. His presentation explored opportunities and challenges associated with sustainable finance, emphasizing the role of banks in supporting green investments and enabling economic transformation.
