OBA Football Tournament 2024

During the month of September OBA organized a football tournament for the banks with the participation of 10 banks including the Central Bank of Oman. The first day of the tournament was on September 2, 2024, as the first two matches were Bank Dhofar vs Oman Housing Bank and the second match was Sohar International Bank vs National Bank of Oman. The teams competed with incredible competition throughout the tournament with 8 teams advancing to the quarterfinals.

The tournament reached the semifinals with Bank Dhofar competing against NBO and Bank Muscat competing against Bank Nizwa for a spot in the final. The semifinal concluded with Bank Muscat and NBO prevailing and set to face each other in the final. September 30, 2024, was the final day of the tournament and it started with Bank Nizwa vs Bank Dhofar for third place. As the final match was sponsored by H.E Tahir Al Ameri the president of the Central Bank of Oman. H.E. along with OBA chairman Mr. Said Al Hatimi and OBA CEO went to the player and the match officials to wish them good luck for the match. Bank Muscat played against NBO in a great show of athleticism and competitiveness. In the end, Bank Muscat emerged as the winner of the OBA Football Tournament 2024. The final day was concluded with H.E. along with the OBA chairman awarding the winning teams with the medals and trophies.
